This residential project, named "4+1," is a modern interpretation of communal living, designed to embody the essence of a small village within a single-family home. The architecture thoughtfully arranges four en suite bedrooms, each tailored to the unique needs of its individual occupant, around a central courtyard. This courtyard serves as the heart of the home, a shared space that fosters interaction and a sense of community among the family members, much like the central square of a traditional village.

The four bedrooms, each offering privacy and comfort, are strategically positioned to open onto the courtyard, creating a seamless connection between private and communal areas. This arrangement encourages a balance between individual retreat and collective engagement, allowing each family member to enjoy their own space while remaining closely connected to the others.

The courtyard itself is a versatile space, functioning as an outdoor living room, a place for relaxation, and a venue for family gatherings. It acts as a natural extension of the indoor living areas.

Surrounding the courtyard are the shared spaces of the home—the living room, kitchen, and dining area—designed to serve as the communal hub. These spaces are arranged with a sense of openness and fluidity, promoting interaction and togetherness. The kitchen, often considered the heart of the home, is centrally located, fostering a sense of shared activity and collaboration. The living and dining

areas, with their open-plan layout, provide a welcoming environment for family members to gather, share meals, and create memories.

"4+1" house is more than just a collection of rooms; it is a carefully considered micro-community where the architecture supports both individual autonomy and family unity. The design reflects a contemporary approach to living, where the privacy of each family member is respected, yet the importance of shared experiences is emphasized. The interplay between the private bedrooms and the shared courtyard and living spaces creates a dynamic and harmonious living environment, one that is both intimate and expansive.

"4+1" house reimagines the concept of home as a village, where the architecture fosters a sense of belonging and connection, both within the family and with the surrounding environment. The design seamlessly integrates privacy with communal living, offering a refined balance that meets the needs of modern family life.
