AHA House is defined by a single idea. Serenity through precision. Set on the suburban edge, the project unfolds between two quiet horizontal planes, a floating upper volume and a deep ground-level veranda, establishing a sheltered, continuous threshold between interior life and the surrounding landscape.
The architectural language is intentionally restrained. White volumes, vertical timber screens, textured stone, and the mineral continuity of travertine that extends seamlessly from inside to outside. This limited palette becomes a framework for a spatial atmosphere shaped by proportion, light, and the measured interplay of surfaces.
The ground floor is conceived as an uninterrupted living field that expands toward the pool garden. Large sliding panels withdraw completely into wall pockets, dissolving boundaries and allowing the veranda to function as an extension of the interior. The pronounced overhang, nearly spanning the depth of the terrace, softens Mediterranean light while reinforcing the house’s horizontal composure.
At night, the architecture reveals a more intimate condition. A continuous linear light embedded within the soffit traces a subtle perimeter, while discreet uplights animate the timber blades and the planting. The result is an ambient luminosity, giving the house a second, more contemplative identity.
The entrance sequence is intentionally compressed, a narrow passage framed by stone and timber that opens into the main volume. This spatial contraction heightens the transition, creating a measured pause before the expansive interior.
Inside, the project maintains the same serenity and restraint.
Custom carpentry, concealed infrastructure, and refined detailing create a purified backdrop against which daily life unfolds. Instead of overt spatial gestures, the architecture relies on proportion, material depth, and atmospheric nuance.
The result is a house of quiet confidence, contemporary, precise, and anchored in Mediterranean light, yet purposefully free of spectacle. AHA House embodies an architecture that privileges experience over display, an atmosphere of serenity born from exactness, proportion, and the careful calibration of space.
