Curve House balances clean, modernist principles with subtle organic forms. The front façade is characterized by its simple forms, featuring a prominent solid wall that offers privacy from the street. This wall, made of textured stone, is complemented by horizontal wooden accents, which break up the starkness and introduce another natural element to the design.
The overall composition of the house adheres to modernist principles, yet it avoids being overly rigid by incorporating gentle curves, particularly in the upper-level design. These curved elements add a dynamic quality to the structure, softening the otherwise angular geometry. This approach creates a visual rhythm that is both functional and aesthetically engaging, leading to a cohesive flow from one area of the house to another.
Upon entering, the courtyard becomes the focal point, serving as an intermediary space that integrates indoor and outdoor living. Large glass panels dominate the rear façade, facilitating a strong connection between the interior spaces and the surrounding garden. The transparency of these glass walls allows for unobstructed views and an abundance of natural light, while also making the green spaces and water features part of the living environment.
Material choices play a significant role in the house's overall aesthetic. The use of stone and wood on the exterior contrasts with the smooth white surfaces, providing a tactile dimension to the visual experience. Internally, the continuity of these materials helps maintain a sense of harmony throughout the space.
